A__PART teams up with KITAPOLENG for a day of cultural and dance practice sharing at Potato Head, Bali.

KITAPOLENG was established by Dibal Ranuh and Jasmine Okubo as a multi-arts arena and meeting space. This includes the performance of traditional Balinese dance with a contemporary sensibility, working directly with dancers who are deaf and reaching out into the deaf community in Bali.

Indonesian-Australian dancer and choreographer, and A_PART founder Juliet Widyasari Burnett will engage with the Kitapoleng dancers, learning one another’s culture and dance practice, and investigating ways to communicate through our bodies. They will be accompanied by Bagus Tri Sapurtra, gamelan composer and electronic musician, for an exploration of vibration-heavy sound in dialogue with dance.
